Reasons for corruption in PST files
If you’ve been using Outlook for a long time, you will mostly be familiar with data files called PST. PST or Personal Storage Table is a file that stores a backup of all your Outlook data like emails, contacts, calendars on your computer.
Any email you receive (or send), any contact you add or any changes you make to your Outlook will be automatically added to the PST file. Because of this reason, your PST file can grow to a very large size. The large size of the PST file makes it vulnerable to corruption. When PST file gets corrupted, you may have trouble opening Outlook, you may have trouble sending or receiving emails or you may see various errors in Outlook like ‘Errors have been detected in the PST file’. Of course, file size is only one of the reasons for corruption in PST files, although there are various others like the ones described below.
No matter what the reason for corruption in PST file is, it can be repaired easily using a tool called Remo Repair PST. If you know the location of the PST to be repaired, well and good, but even otherwise, the software has the capability to even find the corrupt PST file automatically on your system. Once it finds the file, corruption issues are fixed and a healthy PST file is generated. You can import this PST file to your Outlook to access all data like emails, contacts, RSS Feeds, calendars, appointments etc. This way you can have your Outlook 2013 repaired easily using Remo Repair PST.
The advantage of using Remo Repair PST is that it works in a read-only mechanism, so the tool functions by extracting contents of your PST file and works on it instead of on the original file. This way, your original file is kept completely safe after the repair.
