How to Add File Type to Remo Recover?

Remo Recover is flexible and permits users to add new kind of file to their database by offering them “Add File Type” option. However, Remo Recover is capable of searching and locating files using their file types or file extensions, as it is built with advanced scanning algorithms.

Steps to Add File Type

  • To add new file extension or file type to software database, run the software to select “Recover Drives”.
  • Now click on “Formatted / Reformatted Recovery” and select the drive from the shown list of drives and proceed with the process. Software will search previous file system and present you the drives found, along with its file system.
  • Now select the “Found Drive/Partition” and click the “Next” button. In this screen you can perform recovery of data using their file types. To add new file extension you need to click on the “Add File Type” which is located at the left corner of the screen.
  • A pop up to Add file type will appear, which contains fields like
    • File Signature (in Hex)
    • File Extension
    • Offset
    • Category
    • File Size
    • Description

  • In-front of “Category” option you have to select the type of category, in which you want to add new file type. You also need to mention the size of file in “File Size” box and bit of information related to added file format in description box, and then click on “OK” button to complete the procedure. You have successfully added a new file format or file type to Remo Recover.
