Methods to restore .webm files

WebM is a video file format mainly for use in HTML5 video tag. It is an open standard based on codecs for video and audio for the purpose of creating and compressing video as well as audio contents. The WebM files can be played using players like VLC, Windows Media Player, etc. WebM file formats are particularly employed for its royalty free use.

How do WebM files get deleted on a Mac volume?

There can be various reasons for a WebM file to get deleted from your Mac OS X and other volumes. Many-a-times, the file may just have been moved, and you can find them using search option. However if you’re confirmed that the files are deleted or you don’t remember the file name to search for it, in such cases you may have to perform .webm file recovery in order to get back deleted or missing files.

Some known causes for file deletion on Mac volumes:

  • Accidental or unintentional file deletion
  • Formatting the Mac or any other volume due to reasons best known to you
  • Corruptions on the hard drives that lead to file deletion
  • Viruses and malwares are known to cause data deletions along with file corruptions
  • Accidental file deletion during moving or transferring the files

Try these methods to perform .webm file recovery on your Mac volume:

1st Method: Recover .webm files from backup – If you have created and maintained a backup of all important files on any volume or an external drive / CD/DVD / flash memory etc., it is recommended to restore those files from back-up if the original files are deleted or missing.

2nd Method: Retrieve .webm files from Trash – If you accidentally or unintentionally delete the important WebM files, it’ll surely be stored in your Trash folder under normal circumstances. You can restore those files from there easily.

3rd Method:  Perform .webm file recovery using a reliable third party data recovery tool - If the above methods are out of the scene and if your WebM files are permanently deleted, you have to undelete .webm files using any reliable and authentic video recovery tool like Remo Recover.

Once you permanently delete any file from your computer or you remove it from Trash, it is marked as deleted by the OS and its space is marked as free space, but it is not completely erased from the hard drive. The deleted files remain on that volume until the free space is overwritten by any other data. Hence rewriting any data on the volume from which you wish to perform .webm file restoration is highly discouraged. Assuming you have not overwritten the free space with any new data on that volume, you can make use of the powerful WebM recovery tool - Remo Recover in order to get back deleted or lost files.

Apart from WebM files, you can employ Remo Recover if you wish to recover all types of video files like MOV, MP4, AVI, MPEG, 3GP, MPG, etc. You can even recover almost all types of audio as well as image files with the help of Remo Recover.
