  • Double-click on Mac HDD and the Applications.
  • Now, click Utilities and choose System Information.
  • On the left pane, select USB.

If you can see the USB drive under the ‘USB hub’, then the flash drive is recognized by Mac. To cross check the same by going to file menu and selecting Go and then Go to folder and type /Volumes/. This will show the mounting point of all the connected drives to your Mac.

Causes for data loss from thumb drive:
