How to Sync Google and Outlook Calendars?
You may use multiple calendars in your life for various reasons. Maybe you have one for your work and the other for the consulting business that you do on your own. Or maybe you have one for personal and other for work. Whatever the reason is, many people have the habit of using multiple calendars.
So, if you are one of those people who use multiple calendars, you may have one calendar with Google and other with Outlook. But with the busy schedule, life has to offer, is it really possible to view both the calendars and maintain it? Won’t it become easier if you can just sync the calendars from both the companies together? Yes, this is a question that’s bothering many users. But don’t worry; we are going to show you a couple of ways to sync Google and Outlook.
Solution 1: Make use of the invitations feature
If you want an event/appointment to appear in both the calendars, one way is to invite yourself by typing your email address at the time of creating the event. For example, when you are creating an event in Google calendar, type the Outlook email address to send the event invite to that email, that way the event appears in both the calendars.
Solution 2: Using Calendar Apps for Mobile
You can sync both Outlook and Google calendars in your Android and iPhones easily, thanks to the calendar apps.
Both Google and Outlook have calendar apps available for Android and iPhone. Just download the respective app and add the accounts you would like to sync it with. And voila! You have both the calendars synced.
Solution 3: Using the built-in iPhone calendar app
If you have an iPhone, you can also use the default Calendar app that is readily available. Using this, you can sync both Google and Outlook calendars.
- On your iPhone, click on Settings > Passwords & Accounts > Add Account
2. From the list of accounts, select com and similarly, follow the same procedure and select Google account.
Log in to both these accounts and let the syncing process complete. Once that’s done, go to the ‘Calendars’ app on your iPhone and enjoy a synced view of both Google and Outlook calendars.
Solution 4: Third party apps
If you are not comfortable using the methods explained above, then you may be interested in some third-party apps providing Outlook and Google calendar sync feature.
One such tool is called Calendar Sync. The advantage of this tool is that it is free and friendly to use. It supports both one-way and two-way syncing from both Google and Outlook. Using this app, you can also delete duplicate events and have a synced view of both the calendars. But one disadvantage of using this tool is that the free version allows syncing events within 30 days. To overcome this problem, you can use the Calendar Sync Pro version that is available for around $10.
If you are ready to invest some money in these third-party apps, there are several others like gSyncit, Companion Link for Google etc. These apps allow you to sync calendars, contacts, appointments from both Google and Outlook accounts.
Conclusion
Using multiple calendars from different companies like Google and Outlook may be common, but do you think it’s worthwhile to reconsider?
What we mean by that is both Microsoft and Google offer using multiple calendars such as for personal and work, with the added benefit of using a combined view or separate views. So, you can just have multiple calendars from only one company. If you think this is a viable option for you, just export the Google calendar and import it to Outlook or the other way round and stop using one of them.
Additional info: If you happen to lose calendar items or other Outlook data when performing any of these procedures or due to other random reasons like Outlook corruption or due to application crash, then it is possible to recover lost Outlook data with the help of a tool called Remo Repair PST. This tool is capable of repairing the PST file and recovering deleted Calendar items and other Outlook attributes like contacts, appointments, notes, etc.
